Mina Ball Continued

Here are a few more photo booth shots! Just imagine this semi plain set coming to life over and over again because of their unbelievable imaginations.  We had so many people really get into the props...it was awesome!

The photo booth was just 1 of many activities we had going on that night! About 20 lucky people took home raffle prizes to places like Carolina Ale House, Chick-fil-a, Great Outdoor Provision, Kroger, & Starbucks! In addition to the raffle we had a silent auction. We auctioned off many different items such as Duke vs. Michigan State Bball tickets, Durham Bulls tickets, Josh Hamilton autographed ball and shirt, Carolina and NC State bball ticket and gift baskets, and a Broadway show! We won the NFL tickets!!!

DJ Fat Jax kept people on the floor all night. People of all ages were busting some moves...I think my favorite part of the dancing was when the MC, Chris Cocherham, had all men make an inner circle and all women make an outer circle. Each circle rotated opposite directions with loud fast music. Once the music switched to a slow song that was your dancing partner for a few moments!! Very fun...

Mina Ball 2010

The Mina Ball was a huge success!

Our small group hosted a dinner and dancing event to raise money for a fundraiser. The Mina Project is Hope's radical gesture of generosity to our local community and beyond. It is built on the precept of Jesus' parable of the minas (pronounced my-na) which calls us to multiply and invest in God's kingdom. Hope has chosen to live this out in the following manner.

During the weekend services of September 11/12, each adult attendee--at both the Raleigh and Holly Springs campuses--received an envelope bearing various amounts of cash ranging in increments of $10-$100. A few held $500. In total, over $64,000 was distributed through all services at both campuses. With 12 weeks to multiply their "minas," attendees are encouraged to be as creative and innovative as possible and use the money to invest in a project or work to raise additional funds. By multiplying their investment and returning it to the church, 100% of the raised monies will then be given to pre-selected projects and non-profit agencies to benefit those in need, both globally and locally.

We set up a photo booth to spice it up a bit! You have got to look at these hilarious pictures!!

Enjoy...
